EasyCare’s history is rooted in the belief that vehicle ownership needs to be an exciting and enjoyable experience, every step of the way – beginning from the moment that you step into a dealership. Which is how it all started, in 1984.
Knowing that something had to be done about the negative connotation that was so readily associated with the car buying/servicing experience, Larry Dorfman set out to change the paradigm: ultimate peace of mind with premier driver benefits, and superior customer satisfaction starting from the vehicle purchase, through the span of the vehicle ownership, and back to the next vehicle purchase. The idea soon turned into a business concept that worked; Automobile Protection Corporation (APCO) and its EasyCare brand became nationally recognized in the early 1990’s. Shortly after, APCO signed an ongoing agreement with American Honda Finance, and was acquired by Ford Motor Company in 1999, tripling the size of the business over the next eight years. In 2007, the company was repurchased by APCO’s employees and equity partners, continuing with it’s focus on consumer-centric growth. In 2016, Ontario Teacher’s Pension Plan became a major shareholder of APCO. Since our inception, we have helped secure the investments of more than seven million car buyers and paid out over $3 billion in claims. EasyCare is currently partnering with over 2,000 dealers committed to making a difference.
Our core values drive us to continuously seek the newest and most effective ways to generate passionate customers at every level and help our dealers succeed.
