Learn How To Maintain Your Coverage
Once you have an EasyCare contract, you'll need to do a few things to make sure your repair claims get paid.
- Service Your Vehicle & Keep Records It is important to service your vehicle according to vehicle manufacturer guidelines. You may be asked for proof of the required service through verifiable receipts that display date and mileage of the vehicle at the time of service when the maintenance involved relates to the failure, or to verify odometer operation. Service within 1,000 miles or 30 days of the recommended interval will comply with EasyCare's Rules for Coverage.
- Don't Ignore Warning Signs While it may be tempting to drive with the oil warning light flashing, don't. As part of the EasyCare contract, you must protect the vehicle from further damage (whether or not the mechanical breakdown or failure is covered by the contract.). Driving your car or truck or operating it any way that results in further damage, related to the original mechanical breakdown or failure, will disqualify your repairs from being covered. So, make sure the oil warning light/gauge and the temperature warning light/gauge are functioning before driving your car. And, if your engine light indicates a problem, safely pull your car off the road and shut off the engine.
- Authorize Needed Diagnostics In some cases, a repair facility may need to perform diagnostics, including partial disassembly or teardown, to accurately diagnose the problem and submit the claim to EasyCare. In this event, prompt authorization of this work will help get you back on the road as quickly as possible.
File a Claim
Filing a claim with EasyCare is fast, easy and hassle-free
Simply take your vehicle to any licensed repair facility and let them know that you are an EasyCare driver. Present them with your membership card, or have them call the EasyCare Claims department at 800-538-4181 with your VIN number to begin a claim.
Provided that your repair is covered under your contract, we will provide an authorization number to the facility and they can begin work. When the repair is completed, your repair facility faxes the repair order to EasyCare, and we pay them directly!
